The Russian team, rushing through the championship without losses, defeated the Serbian national basketball team at the quarter finals in the Kauno "Žalgiris" arena 77:67 (16:12, 18:15, 20:21, 23:19) and qualified to the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals Russian team is meeting with France, while Serbia is playing against Greece, and depending on which team wins, it will have a chance to fight for the 5th place in the championship.
Russia: Andrej Kirilenko 14 (11 reb.), Viktor Chriapa and Andrej Vorontsevič 11, Aleksej Šved 10 (5 ass.), Vitalij Fridzon 9, Timofej Mozgov 8.
Serbia: Miloš Teodosič 20 (9 to., 2/10 3-point shots), Nenad Krsitič 13, Duško Savanovič 9, Kosta Perovič 7, Marko Kešelj 6.
