On Friday Spain was able to defeat Macedonian team after a very changeable game with the final result of  92:80 (26:18, 18:27, 27:17, 21:18). This victory opened the road to the finals for Spain, also guaranteed a spot in the 2012 London Olympic games, while F.Y.R. of Macedonia will have to fight in the additional tournament to qualify for the Olympics.

The game was a duel of two practically equal teams, and Macedonian team, which 'killed' Lithuania in the quarter finals, just proved that it wasn't luck or anything like that - they weren't afraid of the current Europe champions.

No one knows what would have happened if Juan Carlos Navarro hadn't scored that much points, especially in the end.

'This is his day. Simply his day', - the Macedonian leader Bo McCalebb repeated right after the game.

Spain in the FIBA rating is in the 2nd place, while F.Y.R. of Macedonia is in the 47th place.

Spain: Juan Carlos Navarro - 35 (8/14 2pts., 5/9 3pts., 4/4 FT.) tšk., Pau Gasol (17 reb.) - 22, Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka 11.

F.Y.R. of Macedonia: Bo McCalebb (5 ass.) - 25 (11/16 2pts., 0/3 3pts., 3/4 FT.), Pero Antič (9 reb.) - 17, Vlado Ilievski - 15, Predrag Samardžiski (5 reb.) - 12.
