The Spanish national basketball team defended their title. In the final they defeated France with the result 98:85 (25:20, 25:21, 25:21, 23:23).
Spanish team coach Sergio Scariolo: "We are very proud of this victory, because there are only few teams which have been able to won the championship few times in a row. This championship was a very high level one, that's why our victory is even more important. I want to congratulate my players, they played with a huge force. Talent has always been the base of our game. I am very lucky to have a chance to train such wonderful people - basketball stars".
French team coach Vincent Colett: "Congratulations to the Spanish team and their coach Scariolo. Spanish team is the strongest team in the whole Europe. We didn't play badly - we put much effort into this game. We had chances, but then our opponents ran far ahead of us. It's only a little disappointment for us, because you can always learn something after losing to a stronger team".
