The tournament of Aleksandr Gomelsky cup: "Žalgiris" players were given a lesson for their mistakes by "Panathinaikos"

In the game for the third place, Kauno "Žalgiris" was made to accept the superiority of the ULEB Euroleague champions Athens "Panathinaikos" with the result 66:80 (17:16, 12:25, 14:22, 23:17) and took the last - fourth place in the tournament.

Robertas Javtokas, Mantas Kalnietis, Paulius Jankūnas and Tomas Delininkaitis were still recovering after the Eurobasket 2011, so they didn't play.

In the third quarter "Panathinaikos" got the biggest lead they had ever had in the game, but in the last quarter "Žalgiris" used their relaxation and made a big run, but that wasn't enough.

In the final game for the cup, Moscow CSKA defeated Stambul "Fenerbahce Ulker" and defended their title.
