Lithuanian team wins the match against the UK (RESULTS)

National Lithuanian basketball team has begun the championship succesfully by winning their first game against Great Britain 80:69 (19:18, 30:21, 5:18, 26:12)  in the A group.

In the first quarter both teams played a hard but equal game, but the second quarter was much better for the Lithuanian team and it let them to take the lead.

But in the third quarter the situation has changed cardinally, because Lithuanians were made to score only 5 points and the UK team ran ahead.

In the beginning of the final quarter the spectators were able to admire a spectacular fight, but finally UK players became short of breath which led to a quite solid Lithuanian victory.

The most noticeable player in the Lithuanian team according to the points scored was Rimantas Kaukėnas with 16 points, followed by Šarūnas Jasikevičius with 13, accompanied by Kšyštofas Lavrinovičius with 12 points in his pocket and Simas Jasaitis, who scored 11 points.

Loul Deng from the UK team scored an impressive amount of  points – 25, Daniel Clarck scored 15, Joel Freeland -14 and Nate Reinking added 13.
