Ventspils better than Nevezis

In the second half of the game the hosts Ventspils proved to better than team Nevezis and won the game 78:64 (14:13, 14:21, 29:17, 21:13).

In the first minute of the game Zakis opened the result with an effective dunk. Further on both teams for almost three minutes just could not score. Then finally Strelnieks was able to tap-in the ball after an unsuccessful three-pointer by Kanbergs. With Dabkus free-throw Nevezis equalized the result 6:6. Further on both teams exchanged the shots and none of the teams got a bigger lead than four points. The first quarter after Veikalas three-pointer ended up with the result 14:13 in the favour of Ventspils.

In the second quarter both teams scored quite equally for the first three minutes and the result was 17:19 Nevezis being ahead. Next on Nevezis made a run of 7:0, then Ventspils asked for a time-out. After that Stankus added two more points for Nevezis making the result 17:28 for Nevezis. With the help of young Strelnieks, Brazelton and Jurevicus Ventspils made a comeback till the end of the quarter and finished it with minus 6 points 28:34.

Second half of the game started with Ventspils tries to get the lead. They did it 36:35 and again 39:38. After five minutes it was equal 41:41. Further on it was equal game as Zakis, Strelnieks, Umbrasko scored for Ventspils and Veikalas, Viskontas, Silinskis scored for Nevezis. In the final minutes of this quarter Ventspils played better and after Umbrasko and Brazelton three-pointers made it 57:51 just before the final quarter.

In the final quarter of the game Ventspils dictated the rules of the game and did not allow the opponents to diminish the difference in the result. Nevezis still made it 65:58, 67:60 and 69:62 but that was it. Further on Ventspils again increased their lead and Brazelton with two three-pointers and Strelnieks with three free-throws finished this game 78:64.
